Trat Airport – Our Guide

Trat Airport is the local Airport for Koh Chang, Koh Kood and Koh Mak.

Flying out from BKK Suvarnabhumi Airport, Bangkok Airways is the only airline which services this route.

About Trat Airport

Located in the back and beyond of rural Trat, Trat Airport is around 20km from the ferry pier for Koh Chang at Ao Thammachat. It’s 25km to Laem Ngop Pier for Kok Mak and in the opposite direction, nearer 50km to Laem Sok Pier for Koh Kood.

Trat Airport is designated CIQ (Customs Immigration and Quarantine). This means that, on selected airlines, you can check your baggage all the way through and complete your Immigration there. This considerably speeds up through-connections from Bangkok.

Despite its tiny size, the airport does have a small cafe, restaurant and an ATM.

Bangkok to and from Trat Airport

Now on the summer timetable from March 29th 2026 until October 24th 2026, flights between Trat and BKK Suvarnabhumi Airport leave as follows:-

The flight is about an hour. You can also make connections to/from Trat Airport via Bangkok with Chiang Mai, Koh Samui and Phuket.

Trat Airport to and from Koh Chang

From Trat airport, you can either use private transfers or the share minibus to your resort on Koh Chang, door to door.

The afternoon flight, PG307 will always make a ferry connection to Koh Chang. With the early ferry, you can also make the PG302 morning flight out of Trat Airport.

.Private Transfer

• A private transfer between Trat Airport and your resort on Koh Chang, door to door, costs 2,200bt (central beaches) for a SUV car for 2 adults or 2 adults and 2 small children. Please add 200bt for Lonely Beach to Bang Bao Beach. This includes the ferry tickets.
• A private minibus is 2,800bt (central beaches) for 4 persons with ferry tickets. Please add 200bt for Lonely Beach to Bang Bao Beach.

Share Minibus

• The share minibus is 1,000bt per person with ferry ticket and delivery to your resort.
• Please note the share minibus drops off other customers as it moves along the island, not just you.
• The share minibus only covers the east coast up to Dan Khao and check in advance too for extra charges.

Trat Airport to and from Laem Sok Pier (for Koh Kood)

With a morning arrival on PG301 at Trat Airport, you can connect to either the 10.40 Seudamgo, 600bt per person or the 10.45 Boonsiri, same price, both boats an hour

If arriving on the lunchtime flight PG305 at 12.40, you can connect to either the 14.30 Seudamgo, 600bt per person, (90 minutes as via Koh Mak) or the 15.00 Boonsiri, same price, 1 hour. When on the winter timetable and arriving at 13.40, you use the 16.00 Seudamgo or 16.00 Koh Kut Express – it’s tight for the `15.00 Boonsiri and there is no refund if you miss it.

The evening flight does not make any connection.

On the return from Koh Kood, you cannot connect to the PG302 as there are no scheduled boats which dock before 10.00 at Laem Sok.

For the PG306 at 13.10, you can take either the 09.00 Boonsiri, 1 hour or the 09.00 Koh Kut Express mini catamaran, 600bt, 60 minutes. When on the winter timetable with the PG306 at 14.10, you can also use the 10.00 Seudamgo.

To connect to the PG308 at 17.45/17.50, you can use either the 13.00 Koh Kut Express speedboat or their 14.00 mini catamaran, both 600bt, 1 hour or the 13.50 Seudamgo, 600bt, 60 minutes.

Always check for rainy season variations (May to October) on the boat timetables before booking the flight.

Private Transfers and Share Minibus

To travel between Trat Airport and Laem Sok Pier, you can use a private transfer or share minibus.

• An SUV car is 1,600bt for 2/3 persons. Minibuses for up to 8 persons are 1,800bt.
• Prices exclude the boat tickets as Koh Kood does not have car ferries.
• The share minibus service is 1,000bt or 1,100bt per person including the boat ticket – Boonsiri (using their 10.45 and 15.00 boats) if arriving on the PG301 or PG305; Seudamgo (using their 14.30 or 16.00) for the PG305. On the return, share services are available for PG306 and PG308.

Trat Airport to and from Laem Ngop Pier (for Koh Mak)

If arriving on the morning flight PG301 at 09.10, you can connect to the the 10.30 Leelawadee (high season only) or the 11.30 Koh Mak Ferry speedboat, both 550bt per person, 1 hour.

The lunchtime flight, PG305 landing at 12.40 connects to the 14.00 Leelawadee speedboat, 550bt per person, 1 hour. When on the winter timetable with the PG305 arriving at 13.40, you cannot connect to the 14.00 as above so use the 16.00 Panan instead – same price and duration.

Arriving on the afternoon PG307, would mean staying a night in Trat or down at one of the guesthouses in Laem Ngop.

For the return from Koh Mak, you can use the 10.00 Panan for the lunchtime flight, PG306 at 13.10 or if on the winter timeable at 14.10, use the Leelawadee at 11.30.

The last daily speedboat off Koh Mak at 13.30 (Panan) works for the afternoon flight, PG308 at 17.45. Alternatively, you could take the Koh Kut Express at 14.30, 500bt, 30 minutes but note this does not run in the rainy season (1/6/26 to 30/9/26). Private Transfers and Songthaew Taxis

To travel between Laem Ngop Pier and Trat Airport, you can use either private transfers or the open sided share taxis (songthaews).

• A private SUV car for 2/3 persons is 975bt. A minibus for up to 8 persons is 1,400bt.
• Prices exclude the boat tickets as Koh Mak uses speedboats
• The songthaew taxi is 250bt per person but there may be a minimum charge depending on the number of passengers.

As with Koh Kood, check for rainy season boat timetable changes (May to October) before booking the flight.
